WORKING CONDITIONS

Under what conditions are Maloja products developed and produced?

Each day our employees spend a lot of time working at our office and this is why we believe that a warm, welcoming atmosphere is imperative. The values we place on our work environment are as follows.

• Honesty, decency, respect and appreciation of our employees and partners
• A healthy work-life balance
• An environment you would enjoy spending your day in

These values are not only applicable to our headquarters in Germany but also for our subsidiary company VioModa in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. In Bulgaria we have created working conditions that over 200 employees hold in high regard, a work environment that utilizes the most modern textile machinery and upholds high social standards. The goal in mind has always been to incorporate people from the surrounding rural areas and reduce commuting distances and therefore we have built two more production facilities located in Kritschim and Tischirpan, Bulgaria.

CODE OF CONDUCT

With production facilities aside from our own it is equally important that we secure fair salaries and ensure safe working conditions. To achieve this as well as high environmental and social working standards we are member of amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), the leading global business association for open and sustainable trade. Our production partners agree to respect the following labour principles set out in the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct.

To ensure a high standard of social responsibility, we carry out a country-specific risk assessment. This risk assessment enables us to take into account specific challenges and circumstances in the respective countries.

As part of this process, audits are carried out in accordance with the requirements of amfori BSCI to ensure that our production partners in the so-called risk countries fulfil the defined social and ethical standards.

The amfori BSCI audits provide a comprehensive assessment of working conditions, safety standards and social compliance at the production sites.

If criteria are identified during the audits that are not yet fully met, we draw up action plans in close cooperation with the producers concerned. These plans contain clear measures to ensure that the necessary improvements are implemented quickly and effectively.

AMFORI BSCI CODE OF CONDUCT

Since we maintain a very close, partnership-based and long-term relationship with our suppliers, we visit our garment factories several times a year and also get an idea of the production facilities and the working conditions.
