Stowe, located in the state of Vermont is a perfect fit for Maloja as it is a renowned summer and winter resort sport destination. Making it all the more fitting is Stowes ability to draw in summer mountain biking, Nordic winter sport and alpine ski touring enthusiasts.

Heading up the store is Kate Ball-Young who has been a Maloja sales representative on the east coast for more than 4 years.

The building Kate and her husband Wally sourced is a traditional a-frame wood construction. The building itself has a very unique background that resonates well with Maloja. Originally the building was purpose built as a ski hostel for those visiting Stowe in the late 1940’s. It was a very simple design, but had been neglected over the years. After Kate and Wally’s purchase of the building they poured countless hours and much love into restoring the mountain spirit of this beautiful building.

The interior design of the 100 sqm/1000 sqft retail store was conceptualised by our interior designer Susanne Stacheder and carpenter Toni Grasmeier. To compliment the design all interior furnishings were sourced in Upper Bavaria and shipped to the USA for installation.
